DOLE 12 one of the Top 3 DILP Implementers; produces National Winner in Kabuhayan 2019 Awards

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 12 was declared as one of the Top 3 performing regions in the implementation of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) during the awarding ceremony of Kabuhayan 2019 Awards held at Manila Prince Hotel, Metro Manila on May 27, 2019.

This after DOLE 12 exemplified an outstanding performance in program implementation by exceeding its targets, both physical and financial, and adherence to Department Order No. 173-17 or the Revised Guidelines in the Implementation of DOLE Integrated  Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program.

More so, Teresita Lania from Pigcawayan, Cotabato Province bested other finalists by winning the 2019 Kabuhayan Award Best Livelihood for individual category. With just an amount of Php5,000.00 in livelihood starter kits granted in 2015, Lania helped her dressmaking business grow and now owned Lania’s Dressmaking and Repair Shop in Pigcawayan. Her business gained a net income of Php767,211.00 at the end of 2018 and also paved employment opportunities as she managed 16 workers making her a successful individual DILP beneficiary.

“Dako gid ang pasalamat ko sa bulig sang DOLE, grabe gid ang pagtilaw sa akon kay nagmasakit ang bana ko kag gibagyo pa kami. Natagaan ko sang pag-asa nga magbangon tungod sa livelihood assistance sang DOLE,” said Lania.

(I’m very thankful to DOLE’s livelihood assistance, before it came to me I suffered great trials in life, my husband got ill and our home and livelihood means were struck by typhoon. DOLE gave me hope and motivation to start all over again.)

Manang Tess, as she is fondly called, received a plaque and cash award amounting to a total of P80,000.00.

“We are happy seeing our livelihood beneficiaries become successful in their chosen business venture. I hope she serves as an inspiration to others who chooses to become a hardworking entrepreneur with a heart in helping her family and the community,” said Regional Director Sisinio Cano.

Local Government Unit of Pigcawayan (LGU Category), M’lang PWD Association (Group Category), and Odyssa Saltiga (Program Focal Category) were also given due recognition as regional winners of Region 12 during the said event.
