Sultan Kudarat FWCs support DOLE’s Project Angel Tree

Tacurong City -  A total of Fifty (50) profiled child laborers from this city and Isulan municipality received school supplies, hygiene kits and food packs from the Sultan Kudarat Family Welfare Committees (SKFWCs) in the recent Project Angel Tree facilitated by DOLE12- Sultan Kudarat Field Office.

 

In a message, DOLE 12 OIC-Assistant Regional Director Arlene R. Bisnon emphasized that child labor must be eliminated and the support of all stakeholders is needed to prevent this illegal practice.

 

“Every child must be nurtured to become a good citizen and DOLE will continue to encourage our partner agencies to support Project Angel Tree so we could identify children who need our help,” ARD Bisnon said.

 

DOLE 12- SKFO Head Mary Jane C. Hoksuan also expressed gratitude to all the member-establishments of the SKFWCs who donated school, hygiene and food packs.

 

“It is with great pride that we continue to be of partners with private establishments who also continue to support our aim to end child labor in the province of Sultan Kudarat”, Hoksuan said.

 

Private companies who donated gifts for the profiled child laborers included Talakudong Food Corporation (Jollibee), Kenram Palmoil Industries, Delinanas Development Corporation, SUKELCO, SKTSI, Tacurong Fitmart, COSEDA Security Services and Isulan Central Plaza.  The Peer Counselors Club of Notre Dame of Tacurong College also helped in the facilitation of the successful activity wherein parents of child laborers were also oriented on the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) and are now livelihood beneficiaries under the said program.
