DOLE-CCFO facilitates 16M livelihood and TUPAD release in Cotabato City

Cotabato City – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)12 through its DOLE-Cotabato City Field Office facilitated the release of Php9,600.000 livelihood assistance to 448 beneficiaries from 24 barangays of Cotabato City.

 

The said assistance was funded through the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) in partnership with the City Government of Cotabato as DOLE’s Accredited Co-Partner (ACP).

 

Individual projects of the beneficiaries include carpentry, eatery, vulcanizing, sewing, pedicure/manicure , welding, baking, and electronics services.

 

DOLE 12 Regional Director Sisinio Cano, Officer-In-Charge of DOLE-CCFO Lalaine Arboleda, and Cotabato City Mayor Frances Cynthia Guini-Sayadi graced the said livelihood release.

 

Mayor Sayadi, the local chief executive, appreciated the effort of the department in assisting and providing livelihood opportunities to the people of Cotabato City who were determined to venture into entrepreneurship.

 

“We are also grateful in the department for having a partner supportive to our mandates especially in providing meaningful livelihood opportunities to the Filipino people,” said RD Cano

 

In another news, a total of 1,080 beneficiaries from the 1st Congressional District of Maguindanao will benefit with the Php7,050,000 DOLE-Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displace Workers (TUPAD) program grant.

 

The said beneficiaries are expected to work in the declogging/desilting of canal, vegetation control, and cleaning and greening of their respective barangays for an average of 21 days.

 

DILP is a flagship program of the DOLE which seeks to contribute to poverty reduction and reduce the vulnerability to risks of the working poor, vulnerable and marginalized workers either through emergency employment, promotion of entrepreneurship and community enterprises.
