RTIPC 12 conducts year-end meeting, passes multiple resolutions

Koronadal City- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 spearheaded the year-end meeting of the Regional Tripartite Industrial Council (RTIPC) of SOCCSKSARGEN  at Calla Hall, Cinco Niñas, Koronadal City on 26 November 2019.

 

The said council meeting was participated in by representatives coming from the different industry tripartite councils of region 12.

 

Also present in the RTIPC meeting were the members of the DOLE-Regional Coordinating Committee (RCC) who also gave updates on programs, services, and activities of their respective agencies.

 

Learning session on the Guidelines on the Issuance of Work and Employment Permits to Foreign Nationals was presented by Marnie Dave Eballes (DOLE 12) while Board Secretary Jessie Dela Cruz of RTWPB 12 gave an update on the proposed wage increase for regular covered workers in the private sector and domestic workers in the region.

 

The council passed three resolutions which served as the highlights of the said gathering namely: (1) a resolution recommending to the RTWPB 12 to review the prevailing minimum wage rates of domestic workers in the region and to immediately come-up with the appropriate adjustments in their minimum wage; (2) a resolution recommending the reconstitution and strengthening the membership in the RTIPC of Region 12; and a resolution requesting the DOLE-Bureau of Labor Relations to initiate and fund the conduct of Mindanao-Wide Tripartite Industrial Peace Council Summit.

 

In his message, DOLE Regional Director Sisinio Cano thanked the active participation of the council members who made the last quarter meeting of RTIPC a success. “We have a good attendance and a substantial discussion in coming up with important resolutions that will benefit our industry players,” he added.

 

RTIPC in Region 12 instituionalized tripartism by providing a continuing forum for tripartite advisement and consultation which empowers workers and employers’ organizations and enhances workers rights to attain industrial peace and productivity. End/CDGamboa
