21 workers get P485K final pay thru DOLE-SEnA

Kidapawan City- In its bid to assist and provide cost-saving mechanisms for aggrieved workers, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 through its North Cotabato Field Office (DOLE-NCFO) facilitated the request for assistance of 21 workers in the form of Single-Entry Approach (SEnA) settlement procedure.

The affected workers who were composed of room attendants, laundry in-charge/keeper, and housekeeping attendants were paid with the amount of P 485,900.00 representing their last pay and proportion of 13th month pay for separation from employment.

Further, the involved responding party operates a hostel whose market/income has dropped-down tremendously due to pandemic resulting to its closure in September 2020.

“Nalipay man kami kay finally nakuha man namon ang benepisyo na para gid sa amon nga apektadong trabahante, salamat man sa paspas nga pag assist sang DOLE,” said April Joy who was paid with P 43,000.00 remuneration.

(We were happy in receiving the benefits that we deserved and also thankful for the speedy facilitation of DOLE.)

The said workers also benefitted with the first wave of DOLE COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) in March 2020 but still profiled by DOLE-NCFO as part of the Department’s Quick Response Strategy for possible assistance through livelihood and public employment services.

DOLE 12 Regional Director Raymundo Agravante reminded workers to bravely express their labor-related problems and maximizing the programs and services of the Department.

“The Department never ceases to assist workers especially those with monetary claims from their employers even with COVID-19 restrictions,” added RD Agravante.

Labor Advisory No. 06-20 provides guidelines on the payment and release of final pay within thirty (30) days from then date of separation or termination of employment. While SEnA is a 30-day mandatory conciliation-mediation services od the Department to complement its existing labor dispute settlement mechanism and processes to provide a speedy, impartial, inexpensive and accessible settlement services of unresolved issues/complaints.
