DOLE 12 rolls out BAYANIHAN II cash assistance for 14,590 SOCCSKSARGEN workers

Koronadal City- In pursuit of reducing the adverse impact of COVID-19 pandemic to formal and informal workers in Region 12, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 disbursed a total amount of P 73,400,000.00 for COVID Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) and Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) workers for 14,590 affected workers in the region.

The CAMP implementation under BAYANIHAN II program already helped 6,235 private sector workers from 608 unserved establishments while TUPAD assisted 8,355 workers from the informal sector.

Affected workers in the private sector could get a one-time Php 5,000.00 financial assistance from DOLE through CAMP. Companies or businesses implementing temporary closures due to COVID-19 pandemic were advised to register at reports.dole.gov.ph and if qualified, will be able to avail of the said amelioration program.

As of 01 December 2020, DOLE 12 approved CAMP applications of 608 establishments and downloaded the payment thru payment partners amounting to P 31,625,000.00.

Further, the Department disbursed a total amount of P 41,775,000.00 for the informal sectors and vulnerable workers like street/ambulant vendors, tricycle drivers, PWDs, and self-employed workers displaced by current crisis through the TUPAD program. Qualified beneficiaries identified by the Local Government Units (LGUs) are entitled to P336.00 daily wage for a 14-day work period.

“We would like to assure our beneficiaries that they will receive the assistance before Christmas Day since we also have a target to release all these cash aids before 10 December 2020,” said Regional Director Raymundo Agravante.

Republic Act No. 11494 or Bayanihan to Recover as One Act aims to reduce the untoward effect of COVID-19 pandemic on the socio-economic well-being of all Filipinos through the provision of assistance, subsidies, and other forms of socio-economic relief.
