Tripartite Committee of DOLE Philippines signs Social Partnership Accord


Koronadal—  To ensure industrial peace and harmony, a Social Partnership Accord was signed lastJanuary 31,2011 by the Tripartite Committee of the Dole Philippines (Dole Phil) at the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office XII conference room.

The formation of a committee is in compliance to Administrative Order No. 08, creating a Tripartite Committee at Dole Philippines, issued by DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz.

The Social Accord aims to maintain the peace and the integrity of the forthcoming certification election of Dole Phil., by mutually binding themselves to safeguard the rights of the workers before, during and after the said election.

The committee is composed of the DOLE Regional Director Ma. Gloria A. Tango- Chairperson, Director Isidro  L. Cepeda and Mr. Feliciano R. Orihuela-Vice Chairpersons from National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) Region XI and XII respectively,  Mr. Carlito Uy and Mr. Emmanuel Martinez- Vice Chairpersons from the Regional Tripartite Peace Council,  Atty. Rene Ruel B. Almero, Dole Phil. Inc.,   Frances R. Gales –LEAD Polomolok Hourlies,  Jose N. Teruel – AMADO KADENA-NAFLU-KMU,  LT. COL. Joel Alejandro S. Nacnac- CO, 27th Infantry Battalion, PA,  Sr. Supt.Nilo Wong-PD South Cotabato PNP, Mayor Isidro D. Lumayag –Polomolok LGU,  Atty. Christina Haw Tay – Jovero- CHR XII.

Explicitly the stakeholders committed the following; For Dole Philippines Inc., to fully support the certification election as a democratic process which will allow the workers freedom to choose which union will be their next bargaining union; For AMADO KADENA-NATIONAL FEDERATION OF LABOR UNIONS-KMU and LABOR EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION OF DOLEFIL-POLOMOLOK HOURLIES, to conduct activities related to the certification election, to allow workers to vote freely and to refrain from giving statements that may ruin the reputation of  other persons; For the Philippine army and Police office South Cotabato, to act as stand-by- peace keeping force and not to influence the workers on their right to vote, and lastly, For the DOLE XII, NCMB XII, CHR XII, and RTIPC XII  to assist in monitoring and fast track resolutions and investigations, if there are any, lodged in their respective offices and to submit report to the Secretary of Labor and Employment on a regular basis.

With the signed accord, Director Tango said that industrial peace shall be maintained at Dole Phil., which is in line with  the 22- point agenda on labor and employment of President Benigno S. Aquino III.
