General Santos City – Dreams will now turn into a reality for 162 beneficiaries of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) Bottom-up Budgeting (BUB) after they finally received their sewing machines worth P1,057,000.00.
DOLE XII OIC-Regional Director Albert E. Gutib said he is optimistic that with the skills training and equipment given by the government to each beneficiary from 26 different barangays of this city, their families will now live a better life.
“We hope to see every beneficiary to make quality dresses, bags and rugs after we have provided the necessary equipment, please make use of it and generate more income for your families,” OIC- Regional Director Gutib said
The beneficiaries were also skilled women who recently graduated from Dressmaking vocational course.
General Santos City PESO Manager Alex Banguiran expressed his gratitude to DOLE XII and encouraged beneficiaries to sustain their self-employment by learning more techniques in dress, bag and rug making.
“We need to be more creative in making our products for us to stand out among the rest, by then we can move forward and succeed ,” Banguiran said.
Helen Matematico, a mother of five (5) and a resident of Barangay Buayan, this city said the opportunity given to them will truly make a difference.
“Dako gyud ang among pagpasalamat sa DOLE ug sa city government kay gitagaan mi ug higayon nga makakita ug dugang nga income, daghang salamat,” Matematico said.
