ECC 12 informs families of Marawi victims on benefits under ECP

The ongoing armed conflict in Marawi City between the terrorists and Philippine government forces had resulted to injuries and death of both civilian and uniformed personnel. Some of these victims came from region 12 and in the efforts in helping the victims of work-related contingencies, Employees Compensation Commission- Regional Extension Unit 12 conducted funeral visit to two of the victims in Region 12.


In June 21, 2017, ECC-REU 12 conducted its Quick Response-funeral visit to the family of the late Private First Class Mark Darell Parba at Barangay Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City. PFC Parba who was new addition to the Philippine Army was not lucky enough and he succumbed to death last June 8, 2017. “We are saddened with this situation, but we understand that it’s part of their duty, “stated George Parba, his father. According to his family, Parba was a good son and had promised to support his siblings in their studies.



Another victim from Gen. Santos City was Private First Class Marvin Russel Gomez. PFC Gomez at a young age and still new in rendering his services to the Philippine Army died last June 9, 2017 in Marawi City. ECC-REU 12 conducted its Quick Response-funeral visit to his family last June 22, 2017.




During the said visit, ECC-REU 12 explained to the victims’ families on the coverage of uniformed personnel in Employees Compensation Program in the event of work-related contingencies such as accident, sickness, and even death. Their respective families were also informed on the documentary requirements needed in filing for Employees Compensation benefits in GSIS.
