M’lang North Cotabato – At least 13.5 metric ton of organic colored rice produced by local farmers from this town was recently exported to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of the Dubai Entrepinoy Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) Reintegration Programme launched in October 2016.

In the Send-Off Ceremony of Organic Colored Rice held in Davao City, Former Labor Attache and DOLE IX Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo said the exportation of the said organic product signals the beginning of a good partnership and will improve the economic situation of Overseas Filipinos and their families in M’lang who are the main beneficiaries of the project.

The Don Bosco Multi-purpose Cooperative (DBMC) in M’lang enabled the production of the organic colored rice and sent the product to the said countries with exclusive distributorship. DBMC is a Mindanao-based Cooperative that advocates Biodynamic Farming.  A social enterprise venture which carries the BIOS DYNAMIS brand known as the country's first and largest producer and exporter of certified organic black, red, and brown rice.

The Dubai EntrePinoy POLO Reintegration Programme  which is a social enterprise  initiative of POLO Dubai encourages OFs to engage  in business activities  and investment  opportunities while being socially responsible.

Organic rice is the first commodity produced, financed and marketed under the reintegration programme.  The reintegration programme aims to channel the hard earned money of our OFs to worthy investments. It also aims to liberate both the farmers and OFs from the cycle of debt.
