Polomolok Marginalized Workers Avails DOLE Livelihood Starter Kits

Polomolok, South Cotabato – In Region 12, 105 marginalized workers in this municipality are now beneficiaries of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment (DILEEP) livelihood starter kits and nego-karts which aims to augment their income and hone their skills in enterprising.

DOLE XII Regional Director Sisinio B. Cano, CESO IV encouraged the DILEEP beneficiaries to take good care of the starter kits which can help in improving their economic stability.

“This is an opportunity for you to make things better with your family, we hope that our program will not be put to waste. We would like to thank LGU-Polomolok for its continued support to our programs and services,” RD Cano said.

Polomolok Mayor Honey L. Matti expressed her gratitude to DOLE for the program which will make marginalized workers empowered. Beneficiaries include  self –employed with insufficient  income, youth, women, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and parents/ guardians of child laborers.

Livelihood assistance chosen by beneficiaries included barbershop equipment, computer and tarpaulin printing, welding, bakery, rice cake making, food carts, slipper making , sewing, automotive equipment, farm inputs, shoe and umbrella repair and ice cream vending.

Nego-Kart Nego-Kart (Negosyo sa Kariton) is a project for ambulant vendors on major cities and municipalities of the country. The project will assist the ambulant vendors in making their existing livelihood undertakings grow into profitable and sustainable business; thus, making their income level at par with that of the minimum wage earners, at the least.
