Cotabato Rice Mill Worker Gets P55,000 Through Mobile SENA

Rogelio Estrellado, a 58 years old former rice mill operator and a resident of Poblacion 8, Midsayap, Cotabato Province can finally retire after receiving P55,000 from his  previous employer for 19 years.

This was after Mr. Estrellado filed a Single Entry Approach Request for Assistance (SENA-RFA) at the DOLE North Cotabato Field Office through SENA Desk Officer (SEADO) Conrado P. Artatez and immediately responded to his request.

Estrellado said he was happy of the SENA result wherein both parties amicably settled .

“Dako gyud ang akong pagpasalamat sa DOLE sa tabang para makakuha ko ug benepisyo gikan sa akong dati nga amo nga niabot ug disinuebe ka tuig, mamahimo nako nga magamit ang kuwarta para sa akong pagretire,” Estrellado said

(I would like to thank DOLE for assisting me to finally get what I deserve after 19 years of working with my former boss, I can use the money for my retirement)

Estrellado was paid on a per sack basis every mill in a rice mill owned by Mr. Orlando Cadava for 19 years.  He decided to stop working after his children requested him to finally retire.

To fully assist requesting parties from far flung municipalities, DOLE XII-NCFO capacitated PESO Managers on the SENA approach and SEADOs thereafter conduct conferences.  Mobile SENA is implemented in different areas of Cotabato province  for more than Five (5) years.

The SENA is an administrative approach requiring covered labor issues to be subjected to 30-day mandatory conciliation-mediation to enable parties to arrive at amicable settlement. Its purpose is to offer speedy, impartial and efficient remedy to the parties in resolving  conflicts before it become a full-blown labor dispute which can be more strenuous and expensive.
