Injured Dolefil Worker Gets Benefits Through SENA

Koronadal City- Mr. Pedro Balutan Jr., who was a former chemical technician employed by Brunel Technical Services Manpower Corporation almost lost hope when he met a work accident causing his permanent blindness at Dole Philippines.


In his account, he almost committed suicide to end his life because he do not want to be a burden to his family, this was until some members of the KILUSANG MAYO UNO (KMU) brought his concern to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) South Cotabato Field Office (SCFO).


Balutan said DOLE gave him a ray of hope after the Single Entry Approach (SENA) resulted positively and benefits were given to his family.


“Nagapasalamat ko sa tabang sa DOLE para makuha nako ang mga benepisyo, dako gyud ang matabang ani para makapadayon ug pagpanginabuhi ang akong pamilya”, Mr. Balutan said.


(I am thankful for DOLE’s assistance, this will really help my family.)


Through SENA, Brunel Technical Services shouldered the expenses of Mr. Balutan’s eye check-up in Davao City, a 60 days disability benefits from the Employees Compensation Commission (ECC) is being processed and he also received P300,000.00 for his insurance from Pioneer Life Incorporated.


Mr. Balutan plans to use his financial benefits in establishing a piggery and acquiring a 300 square meter home lot for his house. (MCH)
