Sarangani GIPs Now Ready to Serve the Public

Alabel, Sarangani -  67 Government Internship Program (GIP) Beneficiaries of this province are now ready to take on the challenge of becoming government workers after an orientation and learning session cum signing of agreement was facilitated by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

DOLE- Sarangani Field Office Head Domingo C. Baron said the undertaking was aimed to orient young government workers on the guidelines in the implementation of GIP.

“We hope that with this orientation, our beneficiaries will be more responsible enough to do their work while serving the government,” Baron said.

Atty. Ryan R. Ramos, Chief of Staff of the Sarangani Congressional District Office who attended the event also encouraged the beneficiaries to showcase their skills and talents in serving their province.

“Through GIP, we hope to instill  work discipline and diligence.  May you excel in your work assignments,” Atty. Ramos said.

Vaniza S. Alocillo, a GIP beneficiary express her excitement in becoming a government worker.

“We are very fortunate to be chosen as one of the GIP beneficiaries in our province, I will be committed and will always be of service to the people of Sarangani,” Alocillo said.

Earlier, DOLE 12 Regional Director Sisinio B. Cano, CESO IV said the regional agency will continue to partner with local government units to implement  GIP which aim to provide poor young workers opportunity  to demonstrate their talents  in the field of public service with the ultimate objective  of attracting  the best and the brightest who want to pursue  a career in government service.

GIP beneficiaries in the said province are expected to profile child laborers in the barangay; encode  registrants in the Skills Registry System, assist public school/ hospital personnel; and perform duties assigned by government agencies- program partners.
