DOLE 12 livelihood beneficiaries attend SLF consultation/workshop

Gen. Santos City- A total of one hundred six beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment 12 attended the Monitoring cum Dialogue/Consultation with the Beneficiaries of Demonstration Projects Enrolled under the DOLE Sustainable Livelihood Framework (SLF) on July 30- August 2, 2018 at East Asia Royale Hotel, this city.

 

The dialogue/consultation with the SLF beneficiaries aims to get feedback, as well as to determine the status, issues, and concerns affecting the SLF demonstration projects implementation.

 

The DOLE-Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (BWSC) represented by the chief of the workers in the Informal Economy Development Division Ma. Lourdes Gonzales together with Zydney Lanz Cresino facilitated the said activity, and assisted by the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program focal persons in the region.

 

 

“Government agencies are in convergence to strengthen the associations in order for them to achieve sustainability of their livelihood,” said DOLE 12 Regional Director Sisinio B. Cano. RD Cano also pointed out the significant role of the Local Government Units as partners of the associations in the grassroots level.

 

The beneficiaries were validated on the status of their Business and Training Needs Analysis and had crafted their July- December 2018 to 2019 Action Plan.

 

 

Laarni S. Mabanglo of PAG-IBIG-Koronadal also oriented and encouraged the beneficiaries to enroll with said institution to earn savings under the PAG-IBIG program.

 

After the consultation-dialogue, the BWSC staff and DOLE 12 Team visited and assessed the randomly picked demonstration projects under the Sustainable Livelihood Framework such as LEAD Calumpang and SAFII Wives Association (Gensan); Cannery Multi-Purpose Cooperative and Association of Displaced and Active Dolephil Employees (Polomolok), Tampakan Beauty Care Services Association (Tampakan), and Centrala Alternative Medicines Producers Cooperative (Surallah).
