RTWPB 12 calls for 2019 Productivity Olympics nominations

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) 12 in Koronadal City formally launched its information campaign in accepting the nominees for the 2019 Productivity Olympics. The said Olympics is a biennial national competition for best productivity improvement programs (PIPs) of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which is being organized by the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC).

The seventeen (17) RTWPBs nationwide are intensifying awareness and commitment to quality and productivity improvement programs of MSMEs across the country. MSMEs from agribusiness, industry, and service sector with excellent productivity improvement programs for the last two years and compliant to labor standards are qualified to be nominated on the said productivity search.

Board Secretary Jessie M. Dela Cruz of RTWPB 12 disclosed that a Regional Screening Committee from RTWPB 12 together with the quality and productivity champions will determine the winners in the region.

Nominees will be rated according to Business Excellence and Resource Management; which includes total productivity, expansion and growth, awards and recognition, people, systems and green technologies.

“Aside from prestige, cash, and trophies, companies who will be declared as national champions will enjoy the benefit of using productivity logo for three consecutive years and will become a priority company to training programs and services of the Department of Labor and Employment, the NWPC/RTWPB, and DOLE attached agencies,” said Board Sec. Dela Cruz.

“This Productivity Olympics which happens every two years is a good avenue to motivate companies in improving their productivity programs and in a way winners will model others to emulate their best practices in the field of productivity and labor standards,” said DOLE 12 Regional Director Sisinio B. Cano.

RTWPBs are the regional counterpart of NWPC, an attached agency of DOLE. Its Regional Wage Boards are being chaired by the DOLE regional directors. End/RAGardose
