Matalam, Cotabato – A total of Php1,198,250.00 in livelihood assistance check was turned-over to two block farm associations in Cotabato Province. Gokotan Sugarcane Black Farming Association (Pikit, Cotabato) and Nabundasan Sugarcane Farmer/Laborer Association (Tulunan, Cotabato) were the latest associations who have a combined 106 farmers received the assistance from DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) of the Department of Labor and Employment 12.

The said livelihood grant was in partnership with the Cotabato Mill District Development Council, Inc. (CMDCI) as DOLE 12’s Accredited Co-Partner.

The released was done at MDFFCI Office of the Cotabato Sugar Central Corporation, Inc. (CSCCI) in Matalam, Cotabato on May 3, 2019. This was witnessed by DOLE-North Cotabato Field Office (DOLE-NCFO) Head Marjorie Latoja and DOLE-NCFO’s livelihood focal Helen Mangonon.

The total amount was divided to two associations with Gokotan Sugarcane Black Farmers Association receiving Php599,150.00 while Nabundasan Sugarcane Farmer/Labor Association (NASUFLA) with Php599,100.00.The said amount will be used to purchase agricultural inputs and office supplies which will be beneficial in the growth of farm production and rise of income of the association.

“Gapasalamat gid ako sang daku sa DOLE sa paghatag sini nga kaayuhan sa amon nga asosasyon. Magasalig kamo nga paga-ampingan gid namo ini para sa amon kaayuhan kag sa amon komunidad,” said Bonifacio Febreo of NASUFLA.
