Cotabato City- In its bid to help in the continued normalization process of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) awarded P662,593.00 Nego-Kart projects to twenty-five informal sector workers of the BARMM at the Bangsamoro Government Center, this city, on 27 March 2021.
DOLE 12 Assistant Regional Director Arlene Bisnon facilitated the said turn-over which was simultaneously done during the historic MOA signing of the Transfer of Assets and Functions from the Department of Transportations (DOTr) to the Ministry of Transportations and Communications (MOTC)-BARMM.
Beneficiaries’ chosen projects include ice cream making, arroz caldo (lugawan), banana cue, local delicacies, street food and kakanin vending (pastil, fried chicken, peanuts, balut), and among others.
“Today, we witness how the national government continues to bring growth and development in the BARMM as the Department brings you the programs and services that will uplift the lives of the marginalized sectors in the Bangsamoro,” said ARD Bisnon.
“This partnership and convergence with the MOTC and MOLE is part of our continuing commitment and efforts in the transition period of the BARMM by virtue of Republic Act 11054 or the Bangsamoro Organic Law, signed by no less the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte,” added Bisnon. /EndCDGamboa
