Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 Regional Director Sisinio Cano and Sultan Kudarat Electric Cooperative (SUKELCO) General Manager Caludia Pondales led the ceremonial turnover of DOLE Integrated Livelihood Porgram (DILP) Kabuhayan Starter kits to 53 Women Member-Consumer-Owners (MCO) beneficiaries worth Php693,560.00.

The said turnover happened on July 8, 2019 at SUKELCO Main Office, New Carme, Tacurong City.

In the turnover ceremony, DOLE 12 Regional Director Cano encouraged the beneficiaries from the said electric cooperative to improve their livelihood undertakings and receive more assistance from the agency.

“DOLE is more than willing to assist you in your livelihood endeavors, we hope that our assistance will only be a beginning of your success, we also would like to thank SUKELCO for being our counterpart,” RD Cano said.

SUKELCO General Manager Pondales also assured livelihood beneficiaries that the cooperative will continue with its assistance through the improvement of their entrepreneurial skills.

“We urge our livelihood beneficiaries to find ways in improving your business skills, it is very important to have your own strategies to earn more income,” Ponsales said.

DILP is a flagship program of the DOLE which seeks to contribute to poverty reduction and reduce the vulnerability to risks of the working poor, vulnerable and marginalized workers either through emergency employment, promotion of entrepreneurship and community enterprises.
