Tacurong City- A total of 2,584 displaced/disadvantaged workers were the newest Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa mga Displaced/Disadvantage (TUPAD) beneficiaries from different municipalities of Sultan Kudarat Province.
In the formal turnover of TUPAD checks amounting to P8,162.280.00 released on October 15, 2019, DOLE OIC-Assistant Regional Director Arlene Bisnon urged the beneficiaries to perform their jobs responsibly to help their community.
Sultan Kudarat 2nd District Congressman Horacio Suansing also assured barangay officials and beneficiaries the support from his congressional office.
Identified TUPAD beneficiaries were farmers and fisherfolks from Barangay Busok and Poblacion of Bagumbayan, Barangay Kangkong and Ala of Esperanza, Barangay Cadiz and Sta Maria of Kalamansig, Barangay Poblacion I and Salaman of Lebak, Barangay Kulaman and Bugso of Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat.
TUPAD will provide the farmers and fisherfolks temporary work that will compensate them for the needs of their families or provide a start-up capital for a permanent source of income. The employment project will run for a period of ten (10) working days receiving a daily rate of P311.00 based on the minimum wage requirement of the region. The employement for the beneficiaries shall be engaged in the different community projects such as repair and maintenance of common public facilities and infrastructures and cleaning/beautification of government facilities.
