In its bid to jumpstart the economic recovery of the vulnerable sector workers in Cotabato Province, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XII through its North Cotabato Field Office (NCFO) awarded Kabuhayan check amounting to Php 340,000.00 to the Pikit Frontliners Association on November 3, 2022.

No less than the Regional Director Raymundo Agravante spearheaded the turnover of check to the group’s President Nelda Santos and was witnessed by NCFO Provincial Director Marjorie Latoja, the association officers, and its Accredited Co-Partner (ACP) BLGU-Poblacion Pikit represented by Barangay Captain Framy Villanueva and Kagawad Rolly Cabañog.

The group will use the said livelihood grant in operating a purified water refilling station which is expected to augment the income of its members.

On the same day, RD Agravante released the livelihood check amounting to Php 4,979,734.26 from its EnTSUPERneur Program for the three transport cooperatives in the province including the Midsayap Van Transport, Mindanao Transport, and President Roxas Transport Cooperative.

The check was turned over to its ACP, the Stanfilco Makilala Labor Union President Vicente Bag-o which is intended to give individual kabuhayan starter kits to 216 transport sector workers.

EnTSUPERneur Program is a joint project of the DOTr and DOLE that aims to provide alternative sources of income for public transport drivers and operators affected by the PUV modernization and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Department understands the need to intensify its convergence to other national agencies and the local government to widen its assistance to the informal sector in helping them attain full economic recovery this post-pandemic,” said RD Agravante. End/CDGamboa
