In its bid to help affected workers in the informal economy, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 continues its mandate to facilitate distribution of livelihood aid this time to ninety-eight (98) individuals worth P1,272,329.00 of kabuhayan starter kits in Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat.

DOLE 12 Regional Director Raymundo Agravante together with Chief LEO Mary Jane Hoksuan of the Sultan Kudarat Field Office personally handed over the said starter kits to the beneficiaries at the Lambayong Covered Court.

Beneficiaries’ chosen projects were auto mechanic, food vending (arroz caldo, fried chicken, banana cue, meat barbecue, shake, siomai, kwek-kwek, fish ball, kakanin, pastil), food processing, ice cream making, marinated fish making, carwash, carpentry, manicure/pedicure, vulcanizing, dressmaking, and among others.

“Malaking tulong po sa pamilya namin ang pa livelihood ng DOLE, pandagdag kita dahil mister ko lang ang naghahanapbuhay sa amin,” said Conchita Lagmay, a balut vending recipient.

(This livelihood assistance from DOLE is a great help for generating added income, considering that my husband is the sole provider in our family.)

“The COVID-19 pandemic should not stop us in working to revive our economy and the Department continues to give livelihood opportunities especially to the hard-hit sector, the informal and displaced workers,” said RD Agravante. The said livelihood assistance is in partnership with the Barangay Local Government Unit of Mamali as the DOLE Accredited Co-Partner. End/CDGamboa
