Cotabato City- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 turned-over the Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged (TUPAD) check amounting to P 15,000,000.00 to the city government of Cotabato.

The said emergency employment assistance will benefit the 3,000 vulnerable workers who were affected by the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

Assistant Regional Director Arlene Bisnon handed over the check to City Administrator Dr. Danda Juanday with DOLE-Cotabato City Field Office (DOLE-CCFO) Officer-In-Charge Lalaine Arboleda as witnessed of the said turn-over.

Qualified beneficiaries render a 15-day work period that entitle them with P4,875.00 cash aid. The said emergency employment program is also in partnership with the City Government of Cotabato as the Department’s Accredited Co-Partner in TUPAD program implementation.

“We were really glad that DOLE has given top priority in helping our affected workers in the city. This will help them financially especially in this holiday season,” said City Administrator Juanday.

In her message, ARD Bisnon thanked Cotabato City government for its decade of unwavering support to DOLE programs and services which helped the city’s constituents attain full-employment and livelihood opportunities.

“We are grateful for Cotabato City as this is one of our formidable partners in providing tangible programs and services both in the formal and informal sector in the city. As the city government ventures with a new administration of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), we wish you a continued success in labor and employment program implementation,” added ARD Bisnon.
