This after Regional Director Raymundo Agravante led the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the Department, the union, and the scholars. Also present during the signing were Michael Bautista, president of the Notre Dame of Midsayap College Faculty and Staff Association, Victor Hilado, Stanfilco Makilala Labor Union, Pauline Rose Pokles and Lorna Rago, the beneficiaries. North Cotabato Field Office Head Marjorie Latoja and the parents of the scholars served as witnesses during the said MOA signing.

Further, Rago is currently a third year BS Psychology student at the University of Mindanao, Davao City. She hopes to finish her education to improve their family’s economic status and eventually help in providing their basic needs.
“This scholarship is a once in a lifetime chance so we vow to do our share by giving the best results when it comes to performance in our respective schools,” said Rago.
RD Agravante encouraged the scholars to make the best out of their scholarship so they can pay it forward to other people.
“The Department always believe in the importance of getting quality education and WODP comes as one of the factors in achieving the right education for competent labor force in the future,” added RD Agravante.
The WODP program serves as a facilitating mechanism of DOLE in strengthening trade unions and other workers’ organizations. It provides educational opportunities to union officers and members, including their dependents, and offers greater productivity, prosperity and welfare to the employer and worker’s organization.
