Koronadal City – In line with the 2022 Labor Day celebration, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XII through the initiative of the South Cotabato Field office (SCFO) conducted the Learning Session for Workers in the Informal Sector on June 16, 2022 at Cinco Niñas.
This celebration, Regional Director Raymundo Agravante explained, gives service and recognition to one of the department’s major clients, the workers in the informal sector, for their invaluable contributions to our economy.
The activity aims to promote and acknowledge the economic and social contributions of this sector to the country and is consistent with the Labor Day theme, “Matatag na Manggagawa, Matatag na Bansa”.
Some 50 beneficiaries of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) from different municipalities and city of South Cotabato Province attended the event.
As one of the resource persons, Ms. Elyka Agan, Trade Industry Development Specialist of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) XII shared her expertise on the different programs and services for the micro and small enterprises including their advocacies. The participants also received first-hand information on Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) registration, its perks and process.
The one-day activity also included a learning session on National ID Registration from Ms. Sittimazuin Hofileña, Chief Administrative Officer of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) XII which includes the registration process and features of the new ID system.
Board Secretary Jessie M. Dela Cruz of the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) XII and his team discussed topics to improve productivity in work and the updates on the effectivity of Wage Order RBXII-22.
Five livelihood starter kits were also released in a ceremonial awarding which includes tools and jigs in welding services, car wash, painting, and karinderya. End/CKBataga
