The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 proved true to its mandate in the promotion of good governance through the delivery of innovative programs to its clients when it was adjudged as the Most Innovative DOLE Regional Office in the recently concluded 86th DOLE Anniversary Celebration held at City of Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Sta. Rosa, Laguna on 06 December 2019.
The said award and cash prize was bestowed by no less than DOLE Secreatary Silvestre Bello III to DOLE 12 Regional Director Sisinio Cano.
Prior to the awarding, DOLE Central Office in Manila invited all regional offices and bureaus of the department to participate by submitting an entry to the said award. Regional offices and bureaus that demonstrated highly effective strategies and innovative solutions that contributed to the achievement of organizational goals and targets were encouraged to join and submit for evaluation.
All nominees were judged according to the Impact (50%), significant effect in the improvement of services which resulted to cost-efficiency in terms of manpower and financial resources, Novelty (20%), system which is unique to the agency, Sustainability (20%), the “best practice” which contributed in the achievement of a sustained and improved trend of performance results in the office, and Replicability (10%), a system which can be adopted by other offices.
DOLE 12 submitted the best practices and innovations being implemented in the region like the Online Registration of Workers’ Association (RWA) and Construction Safety and Health Program (CSHP), continued certification of ISO 9001:2008 on Quality Management System, PRIME HRM-Maturity Level II, and PRC’s Accreditation of DOLE 12 as provider of Continuing Professional Development.
“We wanted to show to our clients that we continually innovate for the improvement in the delivery of our programs and services and to satisfy the current trends and demands of our times,” said RD Sisinio Cano.
The Department included the Most Innovative Office Award as one of the recognitions given to an office with innovative practices, programs and solutions that created significant impact to internal and external clients which leads in achieving organizational productivity. End/CDGamboa
