Koronadal City- As part of the two-day celebration of the Labor Day, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 organized the Advocacy Forum on DOLE Issuances on May 2, 2019 at Cinco Niñas, this city.
DOLE issuances that were discussed during the said forum include Rule VII-Occupational Safety and Health Standards Investigation and Rule VIII-Work Stoppage Order of the Department Order (D.O.) No. 183-17, Revised Rules for the Issuance of Employment Permit to Foreign Nationals (D.O. No. 186-17), and the Rules and Functions of of Regional Tripartite Efficiency and Integrity Board (RTEIB).
Jemeia Mae Eslabon-De Eyoy, DOLE 12 Senior Labor and Employment Officer (SLEO), presented the Rule VII and VIII of D.O. No. 183-17, D.O. 186-17 was presented by Marnie Dave Eballes (SLEO), and Remily Oca, the chief of DOLE 12 –Internal Management and Services Division (IMSD) discussed the Rules and Functions of RTEIB.
In his message, DOLE 12 Regional Director Sisinio Cano thanked the department’s partners for a very peaceful and productive conduct of Labor Day activities in the region. “These new DOLE issuances have strengthened the safety provisions of our Occupational Safety and Health Law to protect our workers welfare,” he added.
The 2019 Labor Day celebration, with the theme, Pagpupugay sa Mangagawang Pilipino, centers on recognizing and giving back to the Filipino workers for their hard work, perseverance, and contribution to the growth of our economy. It also highlights the continuous collective efforts of the government and the social partners in developing the country’s top resources and providing decent and productive employment for our Filipino workers.
