Gen. Santos City- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 conducted the 2019 Public Employment Service Office-Year End Planning Assessment at Green Leaf Hotel on 22-24 January 2020, this city.

The said assessment was primarily intended for the PESO Managers and Job Placement Officers (JPOs) in Region 12 for fiscal year 2019 to gauge their performance and recommend improvements in the delivery of employment programs and services in the local government units and school-based jobs facilitation activities.

The 3-day planning assessment also gave opportunities to participants in learning new knowledge and current Labor Market Trends extensively discussed by Virgilio Guillermo, former director of the DOLE-Bureau of Local Employment.

Director Guillermo reminded PESO Managers and JPOs of the difference of jobs to employment.

Sessions include PESO/JPO Performance Assessment, Updates on DILEEP Monitoring, TUPAD Monitoring, OnLine SPES, and Employer’s Portal.

Further speakers Evangeline Avinante and Dominador Aquino from DOLE-Bureau of Local Employment Manila presented topics on Career Guidance Advocacy Program and Guidelines and Criteria on Best PESO, respectively.

Provincial Government Offices, Local Government Units, and Job Placement Offices were also given recognitions in categories like Active PESO, Highest Placement Rate, Most Job Fair Conducted, Highest Number of PEIS Registered, Highest Number of SRS, Dedicated Service, and National Nominee for Best PESO.

DOLE 12 Regional Director Sisinio Cano thanked PESOs and JPOs as one of the department’s strongest linkage and in making DOLE programs and services available even to the grassroot communities in the region.
