Isulan, Sultan Kudarat- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 through Regional Director Raymundo Agravante, joins the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) XII and Regional Task Force on COVID-19 members in the program launch of Hatid Tulong Initiative of the Office of the President held at New Provincial Capitol Compound, Isulan, this province on 06 July 2020.
The said launch was participated by the Regional Directors and Local Chief Executives in SOCCSKSARGEN.
With the Hatid Tulong Initiative (HTI), the region is expected to welcome more than five hundred (500+) locally stranded individuals (LSI) from Metro Manila.
DILG Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa thanked all the members and the local chief executives in their positive response especially the Provincial Government of Sultan Kudarat as the host province of LSIs.
Present during the grand welcome were Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa (DILG), RD Agravante (DOLE), OIC-RD Marilou Sumalinog (OWWA), ARD Jerome Barranco (OCD), Mary Ann Lucero (PMS), Governor Nancy Catamco (Cotabato Province), Vice Governor Jose Segura (Sultan Kudarat), DOH officials, the Philippine Information Agency, and local media practitioners.
“The department is open in serving displaced workers who wish to avail of emergency employment or TUPAD while waiting for new job opportunities in the region. For returning OFWs, they can avail different menu of services from OWWA,” assured RD Agravante.
Hatid Tulong Initiative is a continuing effort of the government to bring home stranded individuals from Metro Manila as a result of the community lockdowns implemented during enhanced/modified community quarantine brought by COVID-19 pandemic. End/CDGamboa
