Kidapawan City- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 intensifies its partnership to the Local Government Units (LGUs) through the provision of 26 wifi modems to the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) managers of Cotabato LGUs on October 5-7, 2020.
DOLE 12 Regional Director Raymundo Agravante together with DOLE-North Cotabato Field Office chief Marjorie Latoja handed over the said wifi technology gadgets to PESOs. The said turn-over was witnessed by the Local Chief Executives and municipal administrators of the province’s city and municipalities.
The said engagement and turn-over of modern communication technologies to PESO targets to strengthen the partnership between DOLE and the PESOs especially in this time where internet connectivity is an essential trend in the delivery of government programs and services.
“Thank you DOLE for visiting us, we are grateful for this free wifi because this will help us in working fast and efficiently,” said Merlyn Baldeviso, LGU-Banisilan PESO Manager.
In her message, DOLE-NCFO Chief Marjorie Latoja emphasized the importance of reliable internet connections to functions of PESOs as employment facilitation drivers in the communities.
“Employment facilitation should not be curtailed due to limitations in mobility and communication. We find ways in adopting to the new normal by providing technology enhancements to our partners,” said Chief Latoja.
Further, RD Agravante promised to continue upholding the Department’s commitment in responding to technical needs of the PESO managers in the region. “This wifi technologies which we intend to cover all PESOs, ensures strong internet connections and continuity of the delivery of DOLE programs and services that will benefit formal and informal sector workers, added RD Agravante.
