Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 through its DOLE-Sultan Kudarat Field Office (SKFO) facilitated the release of livelihood and TUPAD Post COVID intervention checks in Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU)-San Pablo this city and in LGU-Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat on 07 September 2020.
DOLE 12 Regional Director Raymundo Agravante handed over the check amounting to P798,309.40 to BLGU-San Pablo through Barangay Captain Rodolfo Jacob as the DOLE Accredited Co-Partner. Also present during the said turn-over were city local chief executive Mayor Angelo Montilla and DOLE-SKFO Chief Mary Jane Hoksuan.
The said livelihood assistance will benefit 48 qualified beneficiaries who were self-employed with insufficient income, youth, women, senior citizens, and parents of child laborers.
Beneficiaries’ chosen livelihood projects were bread making, food vending, food processing, dressmaking, carpentry, carenderia, welding, vulcanizing, among others.
On the same date, DOLE-SKFO Chief Mary Jane Hoksuan turned-over the TUPAD check amounting to P168,000.00 to LGU-Lambayong as the department’s intervention to displaced workers due to COVID-19 pandemic. The said amount was the equivalent of 10-day wages of fifty (50) workers who rendered a short-term employment in their community.
Lambayong Vice Mayor Eric Recinto in his message thanked the DOLE’s effort to help vulnerable workers especially those who were displaced due to retrenchment of establishments as effect of COVID-19 health and economic crisis.
“Masaya po kami dahil hindi po humihinto ang DOLE sa pagtulong sa aming mga kababayan na apektado ng pandemic,” said Vice Mayor Recinto. (We are really happy for the continued assistance of DOLE to our citizens who were affected of the pandemic.)
