Koronadal City- In view of helping the government combat insurgencies in the country, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 continued its engagement to the National Task Force to End Local Communists Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) through its various interventions and activities in the region.
Thirty beneficiaries who were self-employed, women, parents of child workers, and senior citizens in Barangay Kabalantian in the municipality of Magpet, Cotabato province were given livelihood starter kits amounting to Php505,831.00. Chosen livelihood of the beneficiaries were welding services, carwash, puto making, carinderia, baking, and various food vendings.
The department also participated actively in scheduled Local Serbisyo Caravan in identified areas of Regional Task Force-ELCAC and provided orientations of DOLE flagship programs and services to women groups, youth, local farmers, and the indigenous peoples.
186 beneficiares from Brgy. Balite and Basak of Magpet and Brgy. Kabalantian in Arakan, Cotabato were oriented on DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DOLE), Special Program for the Employment of Strudents (SPES), and Registration of Workers Association (RWA).
“The department is committed in ceasing insurgencies in the region by reaching the grassroot communities through the provision of various DOLE programs and services,” said DOLE 12 Regional Director Sisinio Cano.
RD Cano added that the department program managers and partners are closely working together to achieve the President’s goal in creating a harmonized country founded with a stable social order.
NTF-ELCAC was created by virtue of Executive Order No. 70 or the institutionalized whole-of-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace by way of creating national task force and adopting peace framework in ending local armed conflict in the country. End/CDGamboa
