KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — Eleven personnel of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 underwent training on Basic News and Feature Writing on January 29-30 at DOLE 12 Conference Room.

The two-day training was facilitated by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) 12 with the objectives of developing and improving the skill in press release writing which are valuable skills in information dissemination.

Participants came from the different divisions and field offices of DOLE 12.

Danilo Doguiles, officer-in-charge of PIA 12, acted as resource speaker and facilitator. Doguiles shared important tips and techniques in writing news and feature stories.

“Information officers play an important role in our office as you are expected to share to the public our delivery of programs and services to the beneficiaries through reporting or writing a news,” said OIC-Assistant Regional Director Arlene Bisnon.

The training ended with a challenge from OIC Doguiles for labor information officers to really develop a mindset of developing news stories of the important activities and services given to the beneficiaries so that the public are well informed of the accomplishments of the DOLE.
