Maitum, Sarangani Province- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 together with other local and national agencies in the region responded to a call for assistance to a fire victim from this municipality on 16 September 2020.

This after, the Office of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go called for convergence of assistance among the local government and national agencies to fire victim Jeaneth Divinagracia.

Divinagracia lost a home, several properties, and a husband due to a fire that struck her residential house evening of September 11, 2020. This kind of situation in time of pandemic led to immediate assistance from the local and national government agencies in SOCSKSARGEN.

Further, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Maitum through its Municipal Social Welfare Workers Development Office facilitated the coordination meeting with the Office of the Presidential Assistance as lead agency.

The beneficiary received multiple aids like cash assistance (NHA and DSWD), cash, bicycle, and grocery items from the office of Senator Go, free skills training (TESDA), and livelihood assistance (DOLE).

“We will assure the victim in providing her with livelihood package from our DILEEP right after her skills training. I hope this would lessen the pain and burden she acquired from a great loss,” said DOLE 12 Regional Director Raymundo Agravante.
