Makilala, Cotabato – In its bid to ease recovery of natural calamity victims in the region, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 awarded the P3,911,000.00 livelihood starter kits to one hundred ninety-seven (197) beneficiaries in Makilala, this province on 05 November 2020.
DOLE 12 Regional Director Raymundo Agravante spearheaded the awarding of the kabuhayan assistance together with DOLE-North Cotabato Field Office Head Marjorie Latoja. Also present during the release were Mayor Armando Quibod of the Local Government Unit-Makilala and PESO Manager Cheryl Eusalia.
The beneficiaries who were mostly affected by natural calamity in 2019 will venture on micro-enterprise such as dressmaking, gardening, food vending (balut, kwek-kwek, meat barbecue), rice retailing, and among others.
“Daku ni nga tabang sa amua para sa para sa padayon nga recovery gikan sa epekto sang linog,” said beneficiary Teresita Embo.

In his message RD Agravante reminded the beneficiaries to value the assistance given by the government and hoped to sustain their chosen livelihood projects. “The Department continues to assist our vulnerable sectors even in this pandemic but assure us also in making your projects sustainable.
