Koronadal City- The One-Stop Service Center for OFWs (OSSCO) is set for reactivation this year as DOLE 12 Regional Director Raymundo Agravante led all participating agencies in the conduct of an ocular visit to the current OSSCO Office at the Koronadal City Hall Building on 09 February 2021.
The OSSCO which is currently located at the 4th Floor of City Hall Building of Koronadal will have a simple yet decent renovation in preparation for its bigger and complex operations on April 2021. Further, some member agencies in 2020 that opted to cancel physical operations and shifted to online engagement due to restrictions of COVID-19 pandemic are set to return physically to the OSSCO Office.
Prior to the said ocular visit, OSSCO members conducted a committee meeting and strategized approaches and processes in improving its operations in the region. Meeting highlights include the provision of DOLE personnel to assist agencies with online operations, pledged of an additional staff from the Public Employment Service Office (PESO)-Koronadal in monitoring OFW clients, development of OSSCO Online Referral System, and proposed improvement of the physical facilities of the OSSCO in the City Hall of Koronadal.
“This is a great move in bringing our services closer to our clients and stakeholders especially the Overseas Filipino Workers who were greatly hit by the pandemic. We are also appreciative of the City Government for its generosity in providing us an office free of charge that immensely helped in the smooth operation of the OSSCO,” said RD Agravante.
OSSCO which include POEA, OWWA, SSS, TESDA, NBI, BIR, MARINA, DFA, Pag-ibig Fund, Philhealth, Bureau of Immigration, CHED, PNP, and PRC is a one-stop shop service center for OFWs where government frontline services are made accessible to Filipinos who are currently working or planning to work overseas. It also reduces the transportation expenses of OFWs and shorten the processing time of the required documents. End/CDGamboa
