Koronadal City- A total of 177 participants composed of guidance counselors, youth, members of Industrial Tripartite Council, and other stakeholders from region 12 attended the 2019 Regional Career Advocacy Congress (RCAC) held at EMR Convention Center, this city, on 19 September 2019.
The said biennial event with the theme,“PH 4.0 Preparing for a Digital-Ready Workforce,” was conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 in partnership with the Network of Career Guidance Counselors and Advocate (NCGCA) of region 12.
DOLE Assistant Secretary Mariano Alquiza delivered his keynote message in front of the guidance counselors, career advocates, stakeholders, and the DOLE employees in which he emphasized the potential impact of the country’s transition to Fourth Industrial Revolution or Industry 4.0.
“Guidance counselors have vital role in shaping the future of our students by aligning their skills and taelnts, passion, and job choices to the major demands of industry,” said Assec. Alquiza.
The congress’ session includes, Philippine Policies and Intervention-Developing the Future Workforce in 3 key industries; government, academe, and industry sector. Resource persons include Assistant Director Alimbzar Asum of the Department of Information Communications Technology and Engr. Richard Amparo from TESDA 12 (government), Dr. Glenn Bisnar from DepEd 12 (academe), and Marjorie Cartojano from AMA Computer Learning Center (industry).
Further, JobsFit 2022 Report: A Sneak Peek to What’s Next was presented by Ruby Carrasco, the Chief Labor and Employment Officer of DOLE 12, and The Role of Career Guidance in Shaping the Future Workforce which was discussed by Carel Caoille from the Notre Dame of Kidapawan College.
One of the highlights of the said activity was the oathtaking administered by DOLE ASec Alquiza to the new set of officers of the NCGCA headed by its President who will serve until 2022.
