Koronadal City- In its pursuit to comply with the public safety and health standards, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 successfully passed the evaluation and assessment on safety standards set by the government and received the Safety Seal Certificate from the Regional Inter-Agency Committee 12 on 09 November 2021 at the DOLE 12 Conference Room, Mabini Extension, this city.

Assistant Regional Director Arlene Bisnon, who represented RD Raymundo Agravante, received the  said certificate from Department of Local and Interior Local Government (DILG) Local Government Operations Officer VII Musarapha Alim together with Resther Jay Porwelos of the Department of Tourism. Mediation Arbiter Attorney Jasmin Demetillo-Galvan and TSSD Chief LEO Ruby Carrasco served as witnesses of the said conferment ceremony.

On August 25, 2021, the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging and Infectious Disease-12 (RIATF-MEID) passed a Resolution No. 2021-17C organizing the Regional Inter-Agency Committee for Safety Seal Issuance to national agencies composed of the DILG, DOT, DTI, and the DOLE.

Further, on October 25, 2021 the Committee conducted inspection and validation of the DOLE 12 compliance to safety seal requirements which include use of StaySafe.ph for contact tracing system, enforcement of the minimum public helath standards, availability of handwashing stations, observance of physical distancing, assurance of adequate air ventilation as stated in DOLE Department Order 224-21, disinfection protocol, wearing of face masks or face shields, establishment of referral system for medical and psychosocial services, designation of safety officer, and availability of facility for proper storage, collection, treatment and disposal of used face masks and other infectious waste.

In her message, ARD Bisnon thanked the regional certifying committee for the tireless efforts in ensuring that the national line agencies in the region adhere to public safety protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in government workplaces.

“The Department is grateful and at the same time proud having this Safety Seal Certificate. As one of the agencies conducting the monitoring of the private establishments  compliance to minimum safety and health protocols, I guess it’s just right that the Department must be the first to be conferred with this symbolic seal of public health safety,” added ARD Bisnon.
