The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) 12 has received a total of 10 nominees from micro, small and medium enterprises which will contend for the 2019 National Productivity Awards. The said Olympics is a biennial national competition for best productivity improvement programs (PIPs) of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It is being organized by the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment.

The 17 RTWPBs nationwide help intensify its purpose on national awareness, commitment to quality and productivity, and showcase of best productivity improvement programs of MSMEs in the country.

Jessie Dela Cruz, RTWPB 12 Board Secretary, disclosed the ten companies who have a chance to book a spot in the national screening. These are as follows: (1) RJH Food Products (Gen. Santos City), maker of naturally bottled REMA calamansi juice and concentrate; (2) BKR Food Products (Polomolok, South Cotabato), maker of Mommy Juling Crunchy Atchara; (3) Dr. Alfred’s Essential, Inc. (Kidapawan City), producer of Dr. Alfred’s capsule, tea, coffee, choco drinks, jam and soap with mangosteen extract; (4) Cinco Niñas (Koronadal City), a hotel and resort with food and beverages service company; (5) Centralla Alternative Medicines (Surallah, South Cotabato), manufacturer of plant-based medicinal and food supplement products; (6) Anchor Hotel (Gen. Santos City); (7) Regina Hatchery (Banga, South Cotabato), producer of hybrid fingerlings; (8) Galaxus Montessori (Koronadal City), provider of kindergarten and elementary Montessori quality education; (9) Kayamanan ni Juan (Gen. Santos City), merchandiser of locally produced souvenir products; and, (10) Southern Philippines Power Corporation (Alabel, Sarangani), producer and supplier of electricity.

DOLE 12 Regional Director Sisinio Cano who chairs the RTWPB explained that nomination is still open until March 30, 2019. Thereafter, the Regional Screening Committee composed of members of RTWPB 12 and the quality and productivity champions will determine among MSME nominees the regional winners.

2019 Productivity Olympic winners will enjoy the perks of receiving cash, trophy, use of productivity olympic logo for three consecutive years, and priority endorsement to other trainings of NWPC/RTWPBs and other DOLE agencies. End/RAGardose
