Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat- The Local Government Units (LGUs) of Lebak and Kalamansig in the Province of Sultan Kudarat were the recent recipients of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) awarded DILP checks amounting to P1,947,152.00 for LGU-Kalamansig and P1,562,241.00 for LGU-Lebak on 31 August 2021 at DOLE-Sultan Kudarat Field Office, this city.

DOLE 12 Regional Director Raymundo Agravante together with DOLE-SKFO Head Mary Jane Hoksuan spearheaded the said awarding of Kabuhayan checks that will benefit two hundred- eighty (280) beneficiaries. Also present during the release were Kalamansig Municipal Administrator Ma. Socorro Lanto, PESO Manager Colleen Gay Valdes-Reglos, Lebak Municipal Treasurer Marites Jimenez, and Senior LEO Mikki Rubbins Cajandig.

Beneficiaries who were mostly self-employed with insufficient income, marginalized land farmers, seasonal workers, Persons with Disabilities, parents of child laborers, rebel returners, and women will venture on livelihood projects that include food vending, mini carinderia, halo-halo refreshment, vegetable and banana chips production, carwash services, beauty care, dressmaking, beads making, vulcanizing, welding services, and among others.

“The DOLE livelihood assistance will greatly help communities that are RTF-ELCAC priority barangays especially in Kalamansig. Also, rebel returners can fully maximized the entrepreneurial opportunities they could get from the Department’s flagship program,” said RD Agravante.

DILP seeks to contribute to poverty reduction and reduce vulnerabilty to risks of the working poor, vulnerable and marginalized workers either through emergency employment, promotion of entrepreneurship and community enterprises. End/CDGamboa/MRCajandig
