Beneficiaries of the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) of Tacurong City commended the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 for the fast processing of the 40 percent of their salaries saying that the Online SPES System has expedited everything.

Churchill Saducos was pleasantly surprised upon knowing that the 40 percent salary counterpart of the DOLE is already available. He expects to receive it a month later.

Already in the fourth year of availing the program, Saducos said that this is the fastest time that he received his salary, receiving it exactly 30 working days after his last day of work on May 10, 2019.

He said that last year, his salary arrived not earlier than two months.

Erika Mae Cordero, a three-year SPES grantee, said that the online system adopted by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) greatly helped in the rapid processing of their documents.

“Every year, the process gets faster since we submit fewer requirements due to the fact that our previous data were already stored online,” Cordero said.

SPES grantees of Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tacurong City worked for a period of 20 days and set to receive a daily wage of P407.00 per day or P8,184.00 for 20 days.

Sixty percent of each of the grantees’ salaries or P4,884.00 is shouldered by the LGU while 40 percent or P3,256.00 comes from the DOLE.

The grantees’ salaries from the LGU was already released prior to the release of 40 percent or P3,256.00 comes from the DOLE.

DOLE 12 Regional Director Sisinio Cano advised all DOLE Field Offices to expedite the processing of SPES documents so as to speed up also the releasing of the salaries.

The DOLE’s speedy processing of its 40 percent SPES salary counterpart is mainly due to the implementation of the online system that went full blast last year.

“This is our way of adopting with the technology, maximizing the used of online system in making our deliverables quickly served to our clients,” RD Cano added.

The online system which was launched in 2017 revolutionized the implementation of SPES since apart from expediting the procedures, it adopts a paperless process. End/AFreno
