Tacurong City – A total of fifty eight beneficiaries of the DILP Kabuhayan Starter Kits in this city are now eager to venture on their chosen livelihood after the formal turnover of DILEEP livelihood projects on February 1, 2019 at the City Cultural and Sports Center.
DOLE-OIC Assistant Regional Director Arlene Bisnon urged all beneficiaries to improve their chosen livelihood projects.
“We hope that we can identify, develop and compete the best livelihood projects in Sultan Kudarat particularly in Tacurong in the national competition for Best Livelihood implementers, this is an opportunity that should not be wasted because we believe in your capacity to be successful entrepreneurs,” OIC-ARD Bisnon said.
ARD Bisnon also encouraged beneficiaries to organize an association for livelihood projects enhancement and reminded beneficiaries that selling of livelihood equipment is strictly prohibited.
On her part, City Mayor Lina O. Montilla cites the Tacurong Terminal Vendors Association (TATVA) as an example of a successful livelihood undertaking.
“TATVA has already set the standard on how to be a successful livelihood implementer, and should be emulated by our new beneficiaries. The LGU believes in your capacity to improve your family’s income, and we will continue to support your sector,” Mayor Montilla said.
A total of P997,100.00 worth of livelihood projects were formally turned over to 58 beneficiaries who were senior citizens, women, displaced workers, self-employed, army personnel (Wounded or Killed in Action-KIA/WIA) with chosen starter kits for food carts, welding, dress making, electronics, chorizo-making, and vegetable gardening.
The said beneficiaries have also undergone a Go Negosyo Training facilitated by the Department of Trade and Industry and LGU-Tacurong which aims to enable business and empower livelihood beneficiaries.
DOLE 12 is also set to formally turn over 2018 Livelihood Assistance Funds to local government units of Kalamansig, Isulan, Lutayan, Provincial Government of Sultan Kudarat and assisted beneficiaries of Sultan Kudarat Electric Cooperative. End/KZTurnos
